Ardmore 2-12, Abbeyside 3-09

An Rinn played host to a sun-drenched evening of hurling, where Ardmore faced off against Abbeyside. Ardmore started brightly but were hit by two soft goals that left them trailing by five points at halftime.

With the breeze at their backs in the second half, Ardmore quickly narrowed the gap with a flurry of points. The turning point came when Seamus Prendergast, moved to full-forward, was dragged down for a penalty. James Flavin stepped up and confidently slotted it home. A second goal from James followed shortly after, putting Ardmore in a strong position as the match entered its final minutes.

However, a couple of late points from Abbeyside saw the game end in a draw—a fair result on the night, though Ardmore will rue their sluggish start. With three teams now tied for second place in the table, a win this week is crucial.

Next up: Lismore on Saturday evening.

Ardmore Juvenile GAA Weekly Round-Up

U8 Blitz Action
A wet and miserable evening in Kilrossanty couldn’t dampen the spirits of our boys and girls as they took to the field for three games of football against Clashmore, Brickey’s, and the hosts, Kilrossanty. We came away with two great wins and were narrowly beaten by a strong Kilrossanty side.

It’s been a busy summer for our U8s, travelling across the county to take part in various blitzes. With our schedule nearly wrapped up, we’ll soon be back to regular training. Next up is a trip to Ballyduff Upper this Wednesday evening for more U8 football action.

Under 8 & Under 10
We hosted an U8 and U10 blitz last Saturday evening in Ardmore, despite very damp and challenging weather conditions. Our young players put on a fantastic display across three competitive games against Tallow, Cappoquin, and Ballyduff Lower. The progress shown by both of our teams since the beginning of the season is clearly visible and is a testament to the dedication and effort of our brilliant coaches and players, who consistently give their best at training.

Under 12
Our U12 league campaign reached a brilliant conclusion last Saturday as we proudly lifted the Division C Shield after an exciting final against Tramore. The teams were evenly matched, delivering a thrilling contest for our travelling supporters in Cappoquin. With a large panel on the day, every girl who took to the field gave an outstanding effort. Our midfielders worked tirelessly, driving the team forward and helping to secure the win.

Team captains Aebhin Flavin and Rosie Roche led by example with superb performances, proving themselves to be excellent leaders. A special mention goes to Caitlin Sheehan, who was named Player of the Match for St. Declan’s after an exceptional display in midfield.

Sincere thanks to Eoin, Michelle, Miriam, and Tom for their dedication throughout the season. Their commitment and guidance made this a truly memorable year for the girls.

Under 18
A proud moment in our club’s history took place last Thursday as we fielded our very first minor team since the club’s founding. Supported by players from An Rinn and Dungarvan, we faced a strong Abbeyside side in a brilliant game of camogie, narrowly missing out by just a single point.

This milestone is a remarkable achievement for our small club, as many of these girls began their journey at U8 level and have now grown into skilled and confident minor players. A huge well done to all involved—what an inspiring moment for the future of camogie in our community.
