Juvenile Club Notes
U14 Hurling
Our U14 hurlers travelled to Carrick-on-Suir on Thursday evening to take on St Molleran’s in the U14 Hurling Championship.
This proved to be a highly competitive encounter, with the lead changing hands on several occasions throughout the game. Our lads produced an excellent performance, showing great determination, skill and teamwork from start to finish. Unfortunately, two late goals from St Molleran’s proved decisive as they edged the contest by four points.
Despite the result, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance. We wish the players and management the very best as they prepare to face Killrossanty in their next championship outing.
Before that, attention turns to the U14 Football Championship when we travel to Clashmore this Thursday evening. Best of luck to all involved.
Minor Hurling
Our Minor hurlers continued their excellent form in the Championship league section, making it three wins from three following impressive victories over Cois Bríd, Ballyduff Upper and Clashmore.
The team now travel to Killrossanty on Wednesday evening looking to maintain their unbeaten run.
Unfortunately, the squad has picked up a number of injuries in recent weeks. We wish Seán, Dáithí, Eddie and Eamon a full and speedy recovery and hope to see them all back in action soon.
U12 Football
Our U12 footballers begin their Championship campaign on Tuesday evening when they welcome St Oliver’s to Ardmore for a 6.30pm throw-in.
We wish the players and management every success and encourage all supporters to come along and cheer on the team.
Camogie Notes
U8 & U10 Blitz
We were delighted to welcome five visiting clubs to Ardmore on Saturday for our own U8 and U10 Camogie Blitz, played in glorious sunshine.
Both of our teams performed exceptionally well, recording three wins from four games against strong opposition from Ballyduff Upper, Cappoquin, Lismore, An Rinn and The Brickeys. It was fantastic to see the progress the girls have made, with their teamwork, confidence and skill levels improving with every outing.
A huge well done to all the players, coaches, volunteers and parents who helped make the day such a success.
U8’s
U10’s
U12 Camogie
Our U12 camogie team travelled to Cappoquin on Saturday morning to take on a very strong Lismore side in the County Gold Cup Final.
The girls produced a tremendous performance in difficult conditions, battling tirelessly throughout the game and showing just how much they have developed since meeting the same opposition earlier in the season. There was very little between the teams at half-time, reflecting the tremendous effort, determination and teamwork shown by our players.
Although Lismore’s strength eventually told in the second half, our girls never stopped working and can be immensely proud of their performance. It was a fantastic game of camogie, with some outstanding individual displays alongside an excellent team performance.
A sincere thank you to Ciarán, Sabrina and Brett for all the time, dedication and hard work they have invested in with the girls throughout the season.
Finally, a big thank you to The Sideline for kindly treating the girls to some well-deserved pizzas and lemonades after the match – a lovely way to round off a fantastic day.
