U14 Hurling
Our U14 hurlers travelled to Lemybrien on Thursday evening last to take on Killrossanty in the U14 County Hurling Semi-Final.
We came up against a strong Killrossanty outfit who were deserving winners in the end. Our boys played well and gave everything they had, but unfortunately it was not enough on the day.
Despite the disappointment of the result, the lads can be proud of their efforts throughout the championship.
We would also like to wish Ultan Moloney a speedy recovery from an injury he picked up during the week. We hope to see him back on the field again soon.
U12 Hurling
After topping our group in the hurling league, our U12 hurlers earned a home fixture in the County Semi-Final against Roanmore on Sunday morning.
This was a fantastic game of hurling, with very little separating the sides throughout and some outstanding skill on display from both teams.
Playing against a slight breeze in the first half, Ardmore worked extremely hard and defended very well, with the sides level at half-time on a scoreline of 2-03 a piece.
With the aid of the breeze in the second half, Ardmore started strongly and scored three wonderful points in succession. The team’s work rate remained extremely high, while our defenders produced a superb performance, coming out with ball after ball under pressure.
We added another three points and had opened up a six-point lead with eight minutes remaining. Roanmore then struck for a goal, leaving just one score between the sides with five minutes to play.
Ardmore responded brilliantly, scoring the next point with a wonderful long-range effort before the entire team worked tirelessly to prevent any further scores from Roanmore.
The final whistle sounded with Ardmore victorious on a scoreline of 2-10 to 3-03.
The win puts this fantastic group into another County Final, which is fixed for Saturday morning against either St Molleran’s or St Oliver’s.
We were delighted to see such a large local support in Ardmore on Sunday morning, and thank everyone who came out to cheer the team on. 🔵⚪
U16 Hurling
Congratulations to Logan Griffin, who captained the combined Ardmore and Killrossanty team to the U16 County Hurling Championship title on Monday night in Dungarvan.
In a closely contested final, the combined side emerged victorious on a scoreline of 17 points to 1-13 against Erin’s Own/Ferrybank.
John O’Brien, Conor Bree, Aaron McNamara, Eoghan Murphy and Séamus Twomey also featured at various stages throughout the campaign and final.
We would like to sincerely thank Killrossanty for accommodating our lads and giving them the opportunity to be part of this successful championship campaign.
We now look forward to the U16 Football Championship, which gets underway next Friday night.
Minor Hurling
Our Minor hurlers came up short against a very strong An Gaeltacht team in Fraher Field on Tuesday night.
The task became particularly difficult after we received a red card just ten minutes into the game. Playing with 12 players for the remaining 50 minutes proved to be a huge challenge, but our lads battled bravely throughout.
We were unlucky on a number of occasions, with the opposition goalkeeper and the woodwork both denying us what could have been important goals. However, the better team won on the night.
This group has improved hugely throughout the season and can look back on some excellent performances and victories against Cois Bríd, Ballyduff Upper, Clashmore and Killrossanty.
We now look forward to tackling the Minor Football Championship over the coming months.
U16 Hurling – Dungarvan
Congratulations to Seán Flavin, Colin Breen and Daithí Power, who assisted Dungarvan in winning the U16 Division 1A Plate Hurling Final against Mount Sion.
The lads played their part in a very strong team performance as Dungarvan recorded a comprehensive 1-25 to 0-12 victory.
Well done to the boys on a great achievement. Attention now turns to football, which gets underway next week.
Intermediate Football
Our Intermediate Football Championship campaign gets underway next Saturday when we take on Colligan in Fraher Field at 3.30pm.
Best of luck to the players and management as they begin their championship campaign. All support would be greatly appreciated, so please come along and get behind the team. 🔵⚪
Camogie Notes
U13 Camogie – Team 2
Our U13 (2) team took on Butlerstown (2) at home last Thursday.
Despite being a young team at this age group, the girls worked tirelessly throughout against a strong Butlerstown side and were deserving winners at the final whistle.
They are back in action this Thursday when they travel to Newtown to take on Newtown/Ballydurn. Best of luck to all involved.
U13 Camogie – Team 1
Our U13 (1) team lost out following a hard-fought battle against Cappoquin.
The girls started the game strongly and led at half-time, but after putting in a huge effort they faded slightly towards the end of the game.
There were plenty of positives to take from the performance, and next up for the team is a fixture against Gaultier.
Club Lotto
