Adult Hurling

Our adult hurlers continued their excellent run on Sunday with a fantastic victory over Ballyduff Upper in the Western Championship Semi-Final.

The win sees the lads book their place in the Western Final, which is scheduled to take place next weekend. Well done to the players and management on a great achievement, and best of luck as they prepare for the final. We look forward to seeing plenty of blue and white support behind the team.

U12 Football

Our U12 footballers played most of their Division 3 County Final against St Oliver’s in Fraher Field on Thursday evening before darkness and a lighting failure brought proceedings to an unfortunate halt.

The lads were putting in another excellent performance and were two points ahead with just over 10 minutes remaining when the game had to be abandoned as the floodlights failed to come on.

We await confirmation of the rearranged fixture, which is expected to be a couple of weeks away. The disappointment of Thursday night will only add to the determination of the team as they prepare to finish the job. Well done to all the players and management on another fantastic effort.

U14 Hurling

Our U14 hurlers travel to Ferrybank this Thursday evening to take on Ferrybank in the U14 Hurling Championship.

Throw-in is at 7.30pm. Best of luck to all the players and management, and all support on the road would be greatly appreciated.

Camogie Notes

U8 & U10

Our U8 and U10 teams travelled to Lismore last Saturday for their final round of blitz games for the season.

Both teams played four games against Lismore, Tallow, Ballyduff Upper and Cappoquin and produced outstanding performances, winning all four games.

It was fantastic to see the progression these girls have made since the beginning of the year. Their skill levels, teamwork, heart and determination were on full display throughout every game, producing some of their best camogie of the season.

Well done to both teams — they certainly made their coaches very proud.

Training will now continue as the girls prepare for the Monster County Blitz in September, which will bring the curtain down on what has been a fantastic year for both groups.

U16 Camogie

Our U16 girls played their Championship Semi-Final against Modeligo last Tuesday.

Unfortunately, the girls were defeated on a scoreline of 1-13 to 1-7, but they battled bravely right to the final whistle. With a little more luck midway through the second half, the scoreline could certainly have been much closer.

This brings the U16 season to a close for St Declan’s, but there is plenty more to look forward to, with the girls now turning their attention to the U15 and Minor Championships, where they will compete in Division B at both age groups.

Well done to all the girls and management on their efforts throughout the season.

Well Done Seán! 🔵⚪

Congratulations to Seán Flavin, who was part of the Waterford U15 team that secured third place in the John Doyle competition following their victory over Dublin.

Waterford ran out winners on a scoreline of 3-11 to 0-11.

It is also fantastic to see Seán representing Ardmore on the Waterford panel through the Club Assist programme. We are very proud of Seán and wish him continued success with Waterford. Well done Seán! 👏🔵⚪

St Declan’s Summer Camp

A reminder that our St Declan’s GAA Summer Camp takes place this week from Monday to Wednesday, 17th–19th August.

The camp is open to members and non-members from Junior Infants through to 6th Class and promises three days of fun, games, skills development and plenty of activity.

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone for what promises to be a fantastic few days at the club.
