Minor Footballers Advance to Divisional Final

Great news emerged from Clashmore pitch last Sunday morning when our minors held on to secure the win over Affane/Cappoquin on a scoreline of 3-9 to 3-7 in the semi-final of the division. The opponents had beaten us in the earlier rounds of the championship when we had a number of key players absent through injury who have now returned to fitness. Ardmore were 2 points behind early on when Cormac Mooney hit the net and took the lead for us. The lads drove on well towards half time at which point we lead by 2-8 to 1-5.  We moved further ahead and lead by 9 points at one point in the second half and this lead stood up well in the latter stages of the game. Unfortunately, injuries took their toll during this half when Pádraig Foley and Harry Roch-Perks had both to come off and Affane/Cappoquin fought their way back into the game scoring two goals in quick succession. However, it was too late for the opposition to steal the win at this stage and the whistle came just in time for a good win for Ardmore that earns us a place in a divisional final against Mollerans – date and time to be confirmed but likely to be this weekend. Best of luck to the lads and their mentors from all in the club!!

Juvenile Update

We are delighted to be hosting an U12 team from Boherlahan Dualla, Tipperary next weekend for a friendly game as we approach the end of the season. The visitors are coached by Eoin O’Connor who some of you may remember played football for 3 seasons with Ardmore and is still a very frequent visitor to the village and friend of our club! The game is at 11 o'clock in Ardmore on Saturday morning.

Our 2024 nursery group graduated with honours last Sunday morning, with treats and certs to mark the occasion, after a great season of learning, development and most of all fun! Well done to all the kids and parents who took part in the sessions over Summer Sunday mornings and thank you to Austin Flavin and Patrick Conway and all their assistants for mentoring this group. Looking forward to seeing you all back in the pitch next year.

Camogie Under 13

Our U13 team took on Tallow last Saturday morning in the fourth round of the league. Even though we were low on numbers on the day the girls battled extremely hard and fought for every ball finishing out convincing winners in the end. This team are really gelling well and have maintained their winning streak so far this year which is a testament to the great work the girls and management are putting in at training. Well done girls.

Camogie Under 15

Our Under 15s faced a strong De La Salle side Sunday morning at our home grounds. We knew we were in for a tough match against the city side and the game did not disappoint. Both sides battled hard and matched each other score for score. Our girls however dug extremely deep and pulled a great victory out of the bag after a very close encounter.
