Adult Hurling

Our adult hurlers kicked off their league campaign with a hard-earned 2-12 to 1-11 victory over Dunhill on Saturday in extremely difficult conditions. It was a closely contested game throughout, with James Flavin’s late goal sealing the win.

U14 Hurling

On Wednesday evening we travelled to Erin’s Own in Waterford City for our U14 hurling league fixture. We were blessed with fine conditions and an excellent playing surface. With 15 players togged out, all players started and contributed greatly. A strong first-half performance saw us lead by 10 points at the break, and we maintained that momentum in the second half to record a 4-07 to 1-02 win. This marks two wins from two — a great start to the league.

U12 Football

Our U12 footballers travelled to Bushy Park on Sunday evening to take on Brickey Rangers. With 14 players available, all played the full game. We are fortunate to have four girls involved at this age group, allowing us to field our own team. The team performed very well and secured a comfortable victory in the end.

Both groups return to training on Wednesday evening.

Camogie Notes

Congratulations to Amy and Tricia Power, who were part of the Waterford Minor Camogie team that reached the Shield Final this weekend, defeating Clare on a scoreline of 4-08 to 1-08. Well done also to Brian Power, who was a selector with the team.

Commiserations to the Waterford Senior Camogie team on their loss in the League Final on Sunday. They have had an excellent campaign, and we look forward to the Championship ahead.

Minor Football

Our minor footballers are off to a flying start, making it two wins from two following victories over Ballinacourty and Killrossanty in recent weeks.

Intermediate Football League

Our intermediate footballers are in action this Friday night, travelling to take on St. Mary’s in Division 3 of the league.

U15 Football Féile

Well done to Aaron Troy, Colin Breen, Daithí Power and Seán Flavin (captain) who represented Ardmore/Dungarvan in the Division 2 Féile competition last weekend. The team won two of their three group games against De La Salle and Cois Brid to progress to the knockout stages. They were unfortunately defeated by a strong Rathgormack side in the semi-final. A very positive showing from a team newly promoted from Division 3.

The hurling Féile has been postponed and will be rescheduled.

Well done to Alfie Hennessy (son of former clubman Johnny Hennessy and Anita Supple) who lined out at midfield for Cork Minor hurlers in their three-point victory over Waterford last Friday evening.

Well done also to Ross Power, who played in the primary football game at Fraher Field during the Waterford v Tipperary match.
