U14 Hurling

Our U14 hurlers took part in the Super 10s in Kilgobnet on Saturday morning, playing two games against Brickey Rangers and Ballyduff/Portlaw.

The lads were narrowly beaten in both matches but put in very good performances throughout. We had 15 players togged out and all of the lads got plenty of game time. Great experience for the group and plenty of positives to take from the morning.

Camogie

U8 and U10

We finished up our U8 and U10 Camogie season last Tuesday with a fun-filled evening of fancy dress and games.

The girls have trained very hard over the past year and it was fantastic to see the improvement in their skills and performances at the various blitzes throughout the season.

A special thank you to all our coaches, Sarah, Pat, Grainne, Evelyn, Aisling and Trish, for all their hard work throughout the year and for making training so enjoyable for the girls.

We look forward to seeing everyone back next year.

U13 Team 1

Our U13 Team 1 girls made it four wins on the bounce with a comprehensive victory over Clonea on Sunday morning.

A strong start saw us lead 4-1 to 0-2 at half-time. It was backs to the wall in the second half playing into the wind, but a fierce defensive performance saw the girls finish with a 4-2 to 1-4 victory.

That result sees us finish top of the group and progress to the semi-final in two weeks’ time.

Congratulations

Congratulations to the Ardmore Grange ladies footballers on their fantastic County Final victory, taking home the Junior C Cup after a hard-fought battle with St Anne’s.

An amazing achievement in their first year fielding an adult team. A fantastic achievement for everyone involved.

Intermediate Football

Our Intermediate Football team recorded an excellent 3-9 to 2-11 victory over Affane in the Western Quarter-Final last Saturday in Tallow.

The result sees us advance to the Western Semi-Final this weekend, where we will face Ballinacourty.

Best of luck to the team and management.

Minor Football

Our Minors had a busy week, beating Kilrossanty on Thursday night on a scoreline of 6-8 to 1-17.

Their final group match was played against Ballinacourty on Sunday morning, where they recorded a 2-10 to 2-5 victory.

That result sees the team finish top of the group with five wins from five. They now look forward to their semi-final against Cois Brid on Sunday week.

Well done to the players and management on an excellent group campaign.

 ARDMORE – IRELAND’S GREENEST PLACE 2026!

We are absolutely thrilled and incredibly proud to share the news that Ardmore, Co. Waterford has been named Ireland’s Greenest Place 2026 by The Irish Times!

What makes this recognition so special is that it belongs to the whole community.

From our Pollinator Friendly Village, bee, moth and butterfly gardens and wildflower planting, to our solar panels, EV charging, Sustainable Energy Community and growing number of renewable-energy homes.

From the goats managing invasive furze along the Cliff Walk and at the school, to the restoration of An Sruthán, wild bird cover on local farms and the many biodiversity and habitat projects happening throughout the village.

From our GAA club and Community Hall to Ardmore and Grange National Schools, local businesses, Tidy Towns, community groups and, most importantly, the huge number of volunteers who give their time to make Ardmore a better place.

St Declan’s GAA Club is incredibly proud to have played its part in this journey. Our club is about much more than what happens on the pitch. It is a community hub where people come together, volunteers give their time and generations work together to make our village a better place. We are proud to have been involved in the wider sustainability and community efforts that have helped make Ardmore what it is today.

This recognition is a fantastic reflection of what can be achieved when our community, clubs, schools, businesses and volunteers all pull together with a shared purpose.

This award belongs to everyone.

A huge thank you to everybody who has planted, cleaned, built, organised, volunteered, educated, encouraged and simply cared enough to make a difference.

The judges recognised something we have always known — when a community works together, small actions can create something much bigger.

We are incredibly proud of Ardmore today.

Ireland’s Greenest Place 2026.
