Club Notes 15.07.24
Intermediate Hurling
Deuglán Naofa secured their first points of the championship with a convincing win over Colligan in Cappoquin last Saturday evening. Ardmore had the better of the exchanges from the whistle and were the better team throughout. As he did in the league final a few weeks ago, Seamus Keating goaled twice, accumulating a score of 2-4 in total in the game. Ardmore enjoyed an 11 point lead at half time, on a scoreline of 2-11 to 0-6. Ardmore defended their lead well in the second half despite an enhanced effort from Colligan who added 11 points to their tally in the second half with Ardmore adding just 7. The final scoreline of 2-18 to 0-17 could be important if points difference will be relied on at the business end of the championship. Next up for us in the championship is An Rinn this coming week with the match schedule to be played in Dungarvan at 7pm this Friday evening.
Minor Hurling Championship
Ardmore had a great win in our opening game of this championship beating Tramore 3-18 to 1-11. Our second game proved more challenging against a strong Naomh Bríd side who took their chances well and we were left with too much of a gap to bridge in the last quarter. This week we will look to get back to winning ways when we travel to Portlaw this Wednesday evening to take on the homeside.
Déise Draw
Congratulations to Fiona Levins who was Ardmore’s sole winner in the first of the 2024 Déise Draws last Friday. Fiona won one the €250 – not a bad return on investment!
Juvenile Update
The U7s played a football /hurling mini blitz against St. Olivers last Wednesday evening in Ardmore. This Wednesday the group will take part in a football blitz to be hosted by Brickeys.
The U15s played their second game of the hurling championship last Monday evening in Ardmore against Dungarvan. In an age group where we struggle with numbers our boys did very well for much of this game and will be hoping for their first win of the championship when they play Tramore this week.

Camogie U12
Our Under 12 team had a fantastic win over St. Mollerans last Thursday in our home grounds. Considering the majority of the team had attended Cúl Camps all week, they didn’t show any signs of fatigue and gave a mighty display of skill and determination to come away with a well earned victory. It’s back to the training pitch now to prepare for their next game. Well done girls.
Camogie Under 14
Our Under 14 team played Ballyduff Lower last Sunday in the Under 14B semi-final in what turned out to be a pulsating match in Clashmore. We knew that we wouldn’t have it easy as Ballyduff Lower are a very strong side but this challenge did not phase our girls and they played superbly, working really hard as a team. At half time we were ahead by 1.5 to 3 points. Taking to the pitch in the second half the girls really dug deep and produced some great scores finishing out the game on a scoreline of 4.6 to 4 points. Congratulations to all the girls and management and we now look forward to getting back to the training pitch to prepare for the final.
Camogie Training
Training will take place for all ages Tuesday at 6.30pm, all new members are welcome.
