Condolences
Deuglán Naofa would like to extend deepest condolences to the family and friends of Noel Looby who passed away after a long illness at the weekend. Noel and his family were steeped in Ardmore GAA, with his sister Kay being Club Secretary and their father Larry spending many years working with underage structures. Noel wore the Deuglán Naofa jersey many times as a juvenile and remained a true friend and supporter of the club throughout his adult life.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.
Intermediate Football
Our first outing in the Intermediate Football Championship took place last Saturday in Fraher Field and after a slow start we ground out a much-needed win against Sliabh gCua/St. Marys. Special mention must go to Sean Power whose introduction for the second half yielded a return of 2 goals and 1 point from play and was of huge significance in achieving the win. Scoreline on the day was Ardmore 3-8 to Sliabh gCua/St. Marys 1-7. Our next outing is scheduled for this Friday evening in Fraher Field when we will take on Dungarvan.
Minor Football Championship
Our minors too had their first game of the Minor Football Championship last weekend against Affane/Cappoquin/Tourin. In a tight game we just came up short on a scoreline of 1-9 to 2-9 and will be hoping to do better next Sunday when we take on Clashmore in our second game.
Juvenile Update
Our U8s and U9s had another busy week last week! The U8s took part in a home football blitz last Wednesday where we fielded two Ardmore teams and hosted three, one from An Ghaeltacht and two from Lismore. All the kids put in great performances and were a credit to our club. Saturday it was the turn of the U9s who played St. Olivers and St Pats in a hurling blitz. As ever, they put in a super effort and the improvements could be seen from when we played the same opposition earlier in the Summer.

Highlight of the week was our U12s! They played the best game they played all year to record a convincing victory against Stradbally in the football league final in Fraher Field on Saturday morning. Each player brought their A game and played their part in the victory. We opened the scoring with two fine goals in the first ten minutes and kept the lead throughout, winning on a scoreline of 5-5 to 1-2. This group will also compete in a hurling final this Saturday at 1pm in Lemybrien where they will take on Ballygunner C.

Camogie Under 8 and 10
Our U8 and U10 teams travelled to Clonea last Saturday to take part in their last blitz of this year. They played three very competitive games against teams from Clonea, An Rinn and Butlerstown. Both our teams played very well and really enjoyed themselves. It was great to see them putting into practice everything they have learned this year.

Camogie Under 13
Our U13 team got their league off to a flying start when they took on Dungarvan away last Thursday evening. With many of the team playing with renewed confidence off the back of their county final win under 12 the previous week and the experience of our older girls it made for a fantastic team performance overall. We proved convincing winners at the final whistle on a scoreline of 10.3 to 1 point.

Camogie Under 16
The U16s made up of St. Declan’s and An Rinn faced a very strong Abbeyside team in the County B Final last Saturday evening on a lovely sunny day in Colligan. The game got off to a blistering start with some fantastic points from Treasa Ní Chrotaigh and a brilliant goal from half forward Ava O’ Keeffe late in the first half. Our backs fought tirelessly to keep the Abbeyside attack at bay and done well to keep us within a point a half time. However Abbeyside took to the field in the second half with renewed energy and found another gear which our team could not match. Even though we managed to get another ball past their keeper thanks to Ailbhe Ní Chadhla and a point from Treasa Ní Chrotaigh we could not match the 2. 9 Abbeyside clocked up in the second half. The game ended at 4.13 to 2.7 at the final whistle. Well done to all the girls who have performed outstandingly all year, it may not have been your day but you have done yourselves and your club proud. Thanks also to Declan, Mike, James, Conor, Michelle and Lindsey for all your hard work with the girls this year.
