🌞 Intermediate Football League Action – Ardmore vs Fenor
Our intermediate footballers were back in action last Saturday evening, taking on Fenor in glorious sunshine at 6pm. The lads came out of the blocks firing and led at the break with a scoreline of 2-03 to 0-08. First-half highlights included a fine 1-1 from John O’Brien, a well-taken goal from Sean Power, and points from Liam Lynch and Seamus Prendergast.
Unfortunately, the evening took a tough turn on the injury front, with Kenny Murphy going off in the opening minute, followed by four more injury setbacks as the game wore on. Despite a battling effort, we only managed three points in the second half, with scores from Liam Lynch, Michael Coakley, and Sean Power. Fenor found their rhythm late on, adding 12 points to their tally, including two cracking efforts from distance.
Plenty of positives to take, and a great effort all around. We look forward to rounding off the league at home against Kill on Friday, May 24th at 7pm. Come out and show your support!
🏃♂️ U10 Blitz Report – Football & Hurling Fun!
It was a busy and brilliant few weeks for our U10s! First up was the football blitz held in sunny Cappoquin last Monday evening, following on from their hurling blitz in Aglish two weeks prior.
In hurling, we faced St. Oliver’s and Portlaw. St. Oliver’s put in a strong showing, but our boys dug deep and bounced back to deliver a spirited and exciting performance against Portlaw — great resilience shown all round!
In football, we packed in three action-filled matches against St. Oliver’s, Clashmore, and Cappoquin. The lads gave it everything — with great skill, effort, and teamwork on display throughout. Their hard work at training is clearly paying off, and they’re growing in confidence with every game. A fantastic start to what promises to be a great season!
🏑 U12 Hurling – Ardmore vs Abbeyside
Friday, May 2nd saw our U12 hurlers take on Abbeyside in a competitive and entertaining clash under a clear blue sky. With all 17 players seeing game time, it was a brilliant team effort from start to finish.
The lads impressed with some excellent scores and slick skills throughout. Defensively, there was great work on hooking, blocking, and general pressure — a sign of real progress. Our midfielders were everywhere, linking play and chipping in with scores, while the forwards kept the scoreboard ticking over. This group is improving every week, and the future looks very bright!
Fixtures continue weekly with alternating hurling and football — so plenty more action to come!
🌟 U8 Blitz – First Big Day Out!
On Saturday, April 26th, our U8 boys and girls took centre stage at the Cappoquin Logistics-sponsored blitz at Fraher Field — and what a morning it was! The sun was shining, the pitch was buzzing, and our young stars shone bright.
Playing three lively matches, our players threw themselves into every tackle, kick, and pass. Many of these kids have just made the leap from the nursery group, and they took it all in stride — what a way to experience their first big blitz!
It was a proud day for coaches, parents, and the club, and with more blitzes to come this summer, this group is off to a flying start!
👶 Nursery Group – Our Future Stars!
Our Under 6 boys and girls are continuing to thrive every Sunday morning at Well Kids, with sessions starting at 10:30am. These fun-filled mornings are full of energy, laughter, and the first steps into the world of Gaelic games!
It’s fantastic to see their confidence grow week by week — with every kick, run, and cheer building a love for sport and teamwork. A big thank you to our brilliant coaches and supportive parents who make these sessions so enjoyable.
New boys and girls are always welcome — just come along on Sunday at 10:30am and join the fun! 🌟
🔵 U14 Football Championship:
On a gloriously sunny day in Bonmahon, the U14 football championship began with four Ardmore players proudly lining out for the Division 3 Dungarvan team vs. St. Mary's.
Colin Breen (full back), Seán Flavin (centre back), Tom Howard (half back), and Daithí Power (midfield) all made excellent contributions in a tightly contested match. Despite Dungarvan dominating possession, a few missed chances left the sides level at half time. St. Mary's pulled ahead early in the second half, and although Dungarvan staged a strong comeback, they just fell short in the final minutes. Great effort from all four Ardmore lads – promising signs for the rounds ahead!
